Mary Jane Klapper, age 96 of Hamilton, passed away at Berkeley Square Nursing Home on Sunday, April 29, 2018. Mary was born in Hamilton, Ohio on November 5, 1921 to Patrick and Bernice (Brown) Collopy. She graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1939 and worked at Ohio Casualty after high school and through the war years. On August 15, 1943 she married Russell E. Klapper in Dallas, TX and together they had two children. Mary Jane was an avid golfer and sports fan, especially the Reds and Bengals.
Mary Jane is survived by her children, Jim (Terese Naser) Klapper of Glastonbury, CT and Kathleen (Greg) Rowe of Davis, CA; her dear friends, Judy Holzinger of Hamilton and Linda Maybury of Sacramento, CA, and numerous relatives in Maysville, KY. Mary Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Russell E. Klapper; her brothers, Richard and James Collopy; and her parents.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Julie Billiart Catholic Church, 224 Dayton St, Hamilton, Ohio, on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at 10:30 AM with Fr. Rob Muhlenkamp Celebrant. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the church. www.browndawsonflick.com
