Mary Louise "Lou" Larkin, age 76 of Hamilton passed away in her residence on Sunday, January 20, 2008 at 11:00 AM. She was born in Sidney, Ohio on March 15, 1931 the daughter of Edward and Mildred (Baumann) Larkin. Lou was a 1949 graduate of Notre Dame High School, a 1952 graduate of Mercy School of Nursing, a 1963 graduate of Our Lady of Cincinnati with a B.S. in Science, and a 1970 graduate of the University of Michigan, with a Master’s of Public Health. She was a veteran of the United States Air Force from 1964 to 1968, and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was employed as a registered nurse and a nursing educator for the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Cincinnati for twenty-one years, retiring in 1991.

She is survived by three brothers, John (Gayle) Larkin of Clermont, Florida, Edward (Karen) Larkin of Hamilton, and James Larkin of Hamilton; one sister, Mickey (Michael) Capella of Starkville, Mississippi; and also twenty-one nieces and nephews and thirty-four great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Carol Sue Larkin and Nancy McKay.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Catholic Church on Tuesday, January 22, 2008 (today) at 10:00 AM with Fr. William J. Dorrmann, Celebrant. There will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held in Gethsemane Cemetery, St. Mary’s, Ohio on Tuesday at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to St. Joseph Catholic Church or St. Joseph Consolidated School.
