Mary W. Lewis, age 93 of Hamilton, passed away at Fort Hamilton Hospital on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at 3:37 AM. She was born in Manchester, Kentucky on December 8, 1919 to Henry and Lillie (Meyers) Harris. Mary was employed as a sorter for Champion Paper Company for 17 years and also in the dietary department at Fort Hamilton Hospital for 14 years, retiring in 1985. She was the Past Commander of the Women’s Auxillary for the DAV Chapter 15 and was a member of First Baptist Church of Hamilton
She is survived by her husband, Donald Lewis; her son William R. (Diane) Lewis; four grandchildren, Shannon (Jason), Carrie (Kevin), Justin (Brittany), and Caitlin ; seven great grandchildren, Tyler, Cheyenne, Austin, Brianna, Caleigh, Tristin, and Joslyn; two great great grandchildren, Peyton and Mason; sister-in-law, Vida Harris; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Robert and Preston Harris.
Funeral service will be held at Brown-Dawson-Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Monday, January 21, 2013 at 11:00 AM with Dr. Dennis Metzger and Rev. William C. Brantingham of the First Baptist Church of Hamilton officiating. Entombment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held on Monday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
