Mary Lou Moran

Mary Lou Moran, age 82 of Hamilton passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Monday, January 31, 2011. She was born in Hamilton on August 15, 1928 the daughter of Herbert and Edna (Martin) Mick. Lou attended St. Joseph’s School and graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1946. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Notre Dame Alumni. Lou was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting. On June 12, 1948 in Hamilton she married Robert H. Moran.

She is survived by her husband, Robert H. Moran; two sons, Robert E. (Mary) Moran and Joseph H. (Holly) Moran; three daughters, Jeanne (David) Kolb, Anne (Larry) Lake, and Patty (Jim) Truster; two brothers, Larry (Maureen) Mick and David (Rachel) Mick; a sister, Sr. Loretta Mick, SFP; 15 grandchildren, Yvette (Jason) Scott, Mandy Kolb, Angie Kuntz, David (Brittany) Kolb, Chris (Shawna) Lake, Elizabeth Lake, Bobby Moran, Brittany Moran, Brooke Moran, Tim Truster, Joe (Liz) Moran, Josh Moran, Jake Moran, Jonathan Moran, and Annarose Moran; 10 great-grandchildren, Alena, Alivia, Alysse and Trace Scott, Claire Kuntz, Mason, Payton, and Kennedy Kolb, and Carter and Natalie Lake; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, William, Herbert, and John Mick; two sisters, Betty Fath and Evelyn Jones; and a grandson, Michael Truster.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 171 Washington Street, on Thursday, February 3, 2011 at 11:30 AM with Fr. R. Marc Sherlock, Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Stephen’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Thursday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Hamilton. The family extends a special thank you to Golden Years Assisted Living and Hospice of Cincinnati.
