Mary Louise (Turco) Barnes, 97, of Hamilton, Ohio, passed away peacefully in her sleep during the evening hours of September 29, 2026. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, and great grandmother whose presence will be deeply missed.
Mary was born at home in Hamilton, OH, on December 2, 1928, to Anthony and Anna (Mugnolo) Turco. She married the love of her life, Gene R. Barnes, on June 30, 1951. They were truly inseparable and it showed. Together, they bowled, traveled, played cards, square danced, and most importantly, they spent as much time as possible with their family and church. They were a truly inspirational couple.
She is survived by her two sons, Michael (Janice) Barnes and Ricky (Shelley) Barnes; her eight grandchildren; and twenty-three great grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; Teresa, her eldest sister; and her five brothers: John, Joe, Jim, and Carl Turco.
There will be a visitation for Mary at the Brown-Dawson-Flick Funeral Home located at 1350 Millville Avenue in Hamilton, Ohio, from 6pm until 8pm on Thursday, October 8, 2026. Family and friends are invited to meet at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 2550 Millville Avenue, the following day, Friday, October 9, at 10am to attend a Mass of Christian Burial with interment to follow at St. Stephen Catholic Cemetery.
