Mary Smith

Mary Smith, age 91 of Hamilton, passed away at Kettering Hospital Hamilton on Tuesday, August 1, 2023. Mary was born in Harlan, Kentucky on July 25, 1932 to the late Richard Charles Allen and Sarah A. (Dixon) Allen. Mary was member of Calvary Christian Center and studied her Bible every day. Mary was a dedicated homemaker and mother and enjoyed cooking, gardening, and singing gospel hymns. She was one of a kind and never met a stranger. Mary is survived by her children, Kathy Smith and Dana (Nancy) Smith; her grandchildren, Shelby (Randy) Holliday, Brandi (Nathan) Thomas, Daniel Smith, Miranda (Robert) Reynolds, Chad (Cristina) Smith, Terrance Taylor II and Ashley Taylor; her great-grandchildren, Meranda (Cody), Nick (Jacob), Kyle, Sophia, Charles (Jennifer), Naomi, Lilly, Catherine, Allie, Claire, James, Atlas, Gabriel, Keirsten and Liam; her sisters, Mildred Saylor and Bonnie Short; many nieces, nephews, extended family members and her feline companion, Precious. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Smith, Sr.; her children, Caroline Smith, Arnold “Arnie” Smith, Jr., Charles “Chuck” Smith and Ronald “Bubby” Smith; her daughters-in-law, Victoria Smith and Sherry Smith; and her granddaughter, Tasha Smith. The family would like to acknowledge her nurses and home health aides over the years for their kindness and compassion. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 from 11:00 AM until the time of her Funeral Service at 1:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave., Hamilton, Ohio, with Pastor Jordan Mullins officiating. Burial will follow at Hickory Flat Cemetery.
