Mary Ellen Steiger

Mary Ellen Steiger, age 95 of Hamilton passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Monday, September 12, 2011 at 9:45 AM. She was born in Hamilton on May 18, 1916 the daughter of John and Minnie (Reese) Bindhamer. Mary was employed at Ohio Casualty for 35 years and participated in various volunteer services throughout her life. She was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her children, Gayle (Steiger) Oursler and Jan (Francie) Steiger; and five grandchildren, Susan Oursler, Wendy (Michael) Kursch, Mark (Veronica) Oursler, Robin (Ian) Cataldi, and Jana-Marie (Steiger) (Michael) Herzog. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ralph Steiger; and siblings Helen Wittenback, John Bindhamer, and Katherine Glaser.

Visitation will be held at the Brown-Dawson-Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Thursday, September 15, 2011 from 6-8pm. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home’s Millville address on Friday at 10:00am with Pastor Kevin Jud of Immanuel Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
