Mary Turner

Mary Turner, age 90 of Somerville, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at 9:00 AM. She was born in Clay County on February 17, 1925 the daughter of Estill and Alafair (Green) Howard. Mary was employed as cook 2 at Miami University in Oxford for numerous years, retiring in 1986. On May 10, 1947 in Burning Springs, Kentucky she married Elrich "Bonehead" Turner and he preceded her in death in 2004.

She is survived by two sons, Mitchell (Christa) Turner and Eldwin Turner, both of Camden; two daughters, Connie Lee (George) Meeks of Huntersville, North Carolina and Vickie (Jack) Couch of West College Corner, Indiana; one brother, William McKinley (Ona) Howard of Bond, Kentucky; twelve grandchildren; and seventeen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Dwight Turner; infant daughter, Kimberly Turner; one sister, Nannie May Howard; four brothers, Larry Howard, Estill Howard Jr., Oliver Howard, and Elmer Howard.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 12:00 noon with Pastor Britt Hensley of Trinity Holiness Church. Burial will follow at Darrtown Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
