Mary Lou Wood

Mary Lou Wood (nee Watson), age 70, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday May 14, 2019. She was born July 4, 1948 in Wheelwright, KY. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Ray Wood; a sister, Greer (Breniger) of Ky, God- grandchildren, Savannah, Loni, and Rex Reno; four nieces and three nephews, and many wonderful friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Marie Watson; daughter Emily and son Terry Gentry; her brother, Benny and sister-in-law Bonnie Watson, and a nephew. She had worked for some years at Fernald as a line cook then later as a checker for incoming goods. She enjoyed teaching the Bible, traveling the roads with friends, and caring for her family. She served in various ministry positions throughout her life. Her last few years were spent struggling with issues from heart problems, stroke, cancer, dementia, and diabetes. There will be a graveside service at Hickory Flat Cemetery, Thursday May 16 at 12:30pm with her husband officiating. Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. There will be no open casket visitation.
