On Monday morning December 7th, , Mary Jo Miller (80) was peacefully called to rest at her home surrounded by family. She was born May 23, 1940, to Fredrick and Florence (Lockman) Miller, in Hamilton, OH. Mary Jo attended St. Peter in Chains elementary and graduated from Notre Dame High School. She continued her education in Virginia where she graduated from Marymount College.
Walking her two dogs, Madam and Madeline, Mary Jo loved admiring all of the new businesses coming into town; business that brought life back into Hamilton. Little did she know by smiling and waving at everyone that passed, she brought life back to the city herself. She was proud to be from Hamilton, as her father helped bring business to the city through his car dealership, Miller Buick.
Mary Jo loved the Cincinnati Reds, watching any tennis match, Graeters Ice Cream, Marx Bagels and above all, shopping…but never for herself. Her favorite thing to do was not only buying gifts but also giving them. She was the most selfless woman that loved to give.
She was loyal to her faith, particularly her devotions to Mary.
Mary Jo devoted her life to her children and grandchildren everyday. She attended every school, sporting and arts event with pride and joy. Her strength was undeniable and her love was limitless. Friends of family recall seeing Mary Jo (Nana) with her red lips, red nails and her red convertible with the top down, always with a smile on her face. She was the most giving, accepting and kind woman to not only family and friends but to anyone she met. Once she knew you, she wouldn’t forget, and she always made you feel like the only person in the room. She truly was one of a kind with a heart of gold.
Mary Jo was preceded in death by her parents; Fredrick and Florence (Locke) and two baby brothers. She is survived by her 3 children; Fredrica (Robert) Heflin, Elizabeth (Jeffrey) Bowling and Leonard (Olivia) Tripoli; 9 grandchildren; Alexandra (Brady) Nori, Ian Heflin, Victoria (Cody) Dunkin, Cole Heflin, Gabriel Tripoli(Sarah Hamm), Tyler Tripoli, Maddex Tripoli, Isabella Tripoli, and Talulah Tripoli; and 6 great grandchildren; Emma Zancan, Luca, Stella and Nico Nori, Liam and Otis Tripoli.
