Mattie L. Hinkle, age 86 of Trenton, passed away at Kettering Medical Center on Tuesday, December 6, 2022. Mattie was born in Hazard, Kentucky on April 12, 1936 to the late Felix and Malissa (Slone) Lewis. She married Glendon Hinkle on November 20, 1954 in Liberty, Indiana. Mattie was employed and retired from the Hamilton IGA and Advanced Drainage Systems in New Miami. She was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church in Trenton for many years. Mattie enjoyed cleaning and cooking, but she loved spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mattie will surely be missed for the love and compassion she gave to all of us. Mattie is survived by her two daughters, Starlena Wilkerson and Kimberly (Robert) Myers; her four grandchildren, Jennifer (Brian) Stogsdill, Jonathan Wells, Beverly (Josh) Hendrixson and Mason Myers; her three great grandchildren, Tristan, Cheyanne and Allison; her brother, Vernon (Patricia) Lewis; as well as many extended family members and friends. Mattie is reunited in Heaven with her husband of 60 years, Glendon Hinkle; her parents and her siblings, Myrtle Hay, Maude Williams, Joe Lewis and Dewey Lewis; and her great-grandson, Chase B. Stogsdill. The family would like to thank the nurses of the 3rd and 5th floors at Kettering Medical Center for their endless love and compassion. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 12, 2022 from 11:00 AM until the time of her Funeral Service at 1:00 PM at Edgewood Baptist Church, 1010 W. State St., Trenton, Ohio with Pastor Keith Risner officiating. Burial will follow at Hickory Flat Cemetery.
