Maude Louise Fluckiger

Maude Louise Fluckiger, age 83 of Hamilton passed away at Ft. Hamilton Hospital on Monday, February 1, 2010 at 12:45 AM. She was born in Flat Lick, Kentucky on June 15, 1926 the daughter of Hobart Harry and Ada (Williamson) Evans. On May 26, 1945 she married Simon Fluckiger Sr., and he preceded her in death in 1990. Maude and Simon were the former owners/operators of Kostas Restaurant; later Maude was employed as a nurse’s aide at Schroder Manor. She was a very devoted and loving wife and mother whose primary focus was her family. Maude was very hospitable, always welcoming everyone into her home with open arms.

She is survived by a son, Simon (Kathy) Fluckiger Jr. of Hamilton; a daughter, Nancy (Joe) Smith of Hamilton; a son-in-law, Dean Cornett of London, Kentucky; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law; five sisters-in-law; and a special cousin and friend, Noma Burgess. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Hobart Leon Fluckiger; a daughter, Alice Cornett; and a brother, Paul Evans.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Thursday, February 4, 2010 at 3:00 PM with Rev. Wendell Coning of Hamilton Dream Center officiating. Burial will follow in Millville Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
