Melinda Jane "Linda" Cecere-Stidham

Age 60 of Hamilton went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 20, 2012. She was the daughter of Flossie A. (Cecere) Singleton and the late Peter L. Cecere, Sr. Linda was a lifelong resident of Hamilton and a graduate of Taft High School. She was employed as a manager at Petland, and a receptionist at St. Raphael. Linda volunteered for the Humane Society and devoted many years as an advocate for pets. Linda loved spending time with family and friends. Her favorite pastimes were music, dancing, nature, horseback riding, and swimming. She devoted her life to the Lord, attended church faithfully, and supported the Trinity Broadcasting Network.

She is survived by her husband, Michael Stidham of Hamilton; her mother, Flossie A. Singleton of Hamilton; her daughter, Nichol Lynn (Damien) Phoenix of Fairfield; her son, Steven Alex Vanderpool of Houston, Texas; two granddaughters, Shakila and Liana; two sisters, Flora Cecere Collett of Phoenix, Arizona and Nina Cecere (Don) Delph of Hamilton; and numerous loving nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Linda adored and cherished her son in law, Damien; and her granddaughters, Shakila and Liana. She was preceded in death by her father, Peter L. Cecere, Sr.; her brother, Peter L. Cecere, Jr.; and her niece, Sgt. Laura Cecere.

Visitation will be 10-11am, Thursday, January 26, 2012, at the Brown-Dawson-Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue with a graveside service at Butler County Memorial Park immediately following. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Humane Society or to Trinity Broadcasting Network. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to Butler County Care Facility for their assistance through the years.
