Merle Proffitt

Merle Proffitt, age 55 of Hamilton passed away at Ft. Hamilton Hospital on Sunday, April 1, 2007 at 2:00 PM. He was born in Hamilton on August 21, 1951 the son of Obie and Flossie (Miracle) Proffitt. Merle was employed as a truck driver for Rural Natural Gas for the past three years. On October 16, 1970 in Hamilton he married Linda Rittenhouse.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Proffitt; two sons, Rob Proffitt and Chris (Ranee) Proffitt, all of Hamilton; his father, Obie Proffitt of Fairfield; four brothers, Wayne, Ed, Steve, and Hank Proffitt, all of Hamilton; two sisters, Nina (Ronnie) Truitt of Seven Mile and Janice Proffitt of Hamilton; and five grandchildren, Kristopher, Charles, Angelina, Alexia, and Shannon. He was preceded in death by his mother and two brothers, Carl and Kenny Proffitt.

Funeral Service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Friday, April 6, 2007 at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
