Merle Eugene Wyatt

Merle Eugene Wyatt, age 62 of New Miami passed away in Jasper County, Indiana on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 as a result of a vehicular accident. He was born in Oneida, Kentucky on June 15, 1949 the son of Ernest and Beatrice (Brewer) Wyatt. Merle was employed as a truck driver since the age of 16, most recently for MCS Trucking, Inc. in Indianapolis. He could often be seen with his late "co-worker," his dog Shorty, accompanying him throughout his workday. Merle enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, and working on classic cars. He was baptized in December, 2005. On April 8, 1972 in Greenhills Baptist Church in Williamsdale, he married Etris Allene Conley.

He is survived by his wife, Etris Allene Wyatt; four children, Lynn (Danny) Van Dyne, Romona Schatzley, Robert (Kristi) Haag, and James (Denita) Wyatt; 8 grandchildren, David (Rachel) Van Dyne, Sean Van Dyne, David Andrew Schatzley, Ashley (Kevin) Owens, Jacob Haag, Chantelle (Matt) Jennings, Larissa (Troy) Blevins, and Katie Colwell; 4 great-grandchildren, Danny Van Dyne II, Mason Owens, Alivia Blevins, and Hailey Colwell; two brothers, Jerry (Janet) Vicars and Harold (Judy) Wyatt; his mother-in-law, Eva Carbary; two brothers-in-law, James A. Conley and Charles (Brenda) Gibson; two sisters-in-law, Carole (Cosby) Hollin and Coralee Vennible; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Ralph Vickers, Kenneth Vicars, and Delbert Wyatt.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Monday, July 25, 2011 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, or American Diabetes Association.
