Michael Lee Brandenburg

Michael Lee Brandenburg, age 64 of Liberty Township, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 11:58AM. He was born in Hamilton on September 15, 1951 to Richard and Joyce (Davish) Brandenburg. Michael was retired from AK Steel. He was a member of VFW Mens Auxillary #7670. Michael’s greatest joy was his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his children, Melissa Brandenburg, of Liberty Township; Jenifer (Ben) Sawyer, of Mason; Nickolas Brandenburg, of Liberty Township; six grandchildren, Laura "Libby", Ryan, Nick II, Jackson, Allie, and Jamison; four siblings, Rick, Sue, Kevin, and Jon; two very special best friends, Tom and Janice Deaton; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents; and a special sister in law Brenda Brandenburg.

Funeral service will be held at Brown-Dawson-Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Friday, December 4, 2015 at 7PM. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 4, 2015 from 5pm-7pm at the funeral home. One of Michael’s great accomplishments in life was overcoming his challenge of alcohol addiction, which he was very proud of, and was able to prove to his family what a strong man he really was.
