Michael A. Cecere

Michael A. Cecere Sr., age 86 of Hamilton, Ohio and Del Roy Beach, Florida passed away at Woodlands of Hamilton on Friday, July 8, 2011 at 12:40 PM. He was born in Hamilton on May 22, 1925 the son of Charles and Maria (Parrozzo) Cecere. Michael served his country as a bombardier in the U.S. Army Air Force and fought in the European Theatre during World War II from 1943 to 1945. He retired as a sales manager from Prudential Insurance in 1986. Mike was a life member of Lindenwald Kiwanis and Elks Country Club, where he was an avid golfer with seven holes-in-one. He was a member of St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church. On May 17, 1947 in Hamilton he married Betty Jo Clendening.

Mike is survived by his beloved wife Betty Jo Cecere of Hamilton; two sons, Michael A. (Gail) Cecere Jr. and Gregory Cecere, both of Boca Raton, Florida; a brother, Albert Cecere of Hamilton; two sisters, Antoinette Howard of Hamilton and Rose Bickel of Dayton; four grandchildren, Mitch, Christina, Eric, and Angela Cecere; one great granddaughter, Jaelin; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Sam, Nick, Jim, Tony, and Pete Cecere; and a daughter-in-law, Pam (nee Scheid) Cecere.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Julie Billiart Church, 224 Dayton Street, on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at 10:00 AM. Entombment will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
