Michael D. Popp, age 57 of Fairfield passed away at Mercy Hospital Fairfield on Monday, May 12, 2008 at 4:00 AM. He was born in Hamilton on November 5, 1950 the son of Michael A., Hamilton tailor and designer of the Eisenhower Battle Jacket, and Lucienne (Gaillard) Popp. Michael was employed as a welder and driver for Cookwell Screen for 20 years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of Forest Chapel United Methodist Church, and also the Lion’s Club in Springdale and Forest Park. On April 27, 1985 in Forest Park, he married Janise Clark, who preceded him in death in 1999. He is survived by his sister, Lucy and her husband William A. Mueller of Denver, Colorado; nephew William F. Mueller of Boulder, Colorado; cousin Lou and his wife Ellen Popazivanov of Okeana; and his oldest and dearest friend, Mark Brunner of Cincinnati. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mary Reider.
Memorial service will be held at Forest Chapel United Methodist Church, 680 W. Sharon Road, Forest Park, on Saturday, May 17, 2008 at 10AM with Pastor Sam Stover officiating. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Lou and Ellen Popazivanov, Mark Brunner, and the staff of Huntington Court for all their care and support.
