Michael Proffitt

Michael Proffitt, age 51 of Hamilton passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2007. He was born in Hamilton on January 1, 1956 the son of Jarvis Jr. and Lucille (Johnson) Proffitt. He was employed as a carpenter for C.J. Home Improvement for fifteen years and was an avid fisherman and hunter.

He is survived by his mother, Lucille Proffitt of Hamilton; two sons, Jason Proffitt and Jamon Proffitt, both of Hamilton; one granddaughter, the love of his life, Jennifer Proffitt of Hamilton; six sisters, Ruth Etta Downey, Marcella (Victor) Loomis, his twin Marina (Paul) Blades, Tresa (Mark) Randall, all of Hamilton, Melinda (Ted) Hayes of Dexter, Ohio, and Tonia (Chris) Barnes of Ft. Bragg, North Carolina; also two special uncles, James Johnson and Leonard Johnson, both of Hamilton; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Jarvis Jr. Proffitt in 1993 and one brother, Wendell Proffitt in 2002.

Funeral services will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Thursday, September 6, 2007 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Paul Marcum, Pastor of the Fellowship Christian Center officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
