Mildred (Whitaker) Brake

Mildred (Whitaker) Brake, age 90 of Hamilton, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at 8:52AM. She was born in Livingston, KY on May 2, 1925 to Earl and Helen (Kelley) Whitaker. She was a member of Freedom Baptist Church. She was a sweet, gentle, loving woman, who taught her family by example; true unconditional love, and servanthood. In 1942, in Laurel Co., KY, she married Edwin Whitaker, and he preceded her in death in 1979. In 1985, in Hamilton, she married Clyde Brake, and he preceded her in death in 2003.

She is survived by her children; Edwin (Glenna) Whitaker Jr., Renee (Mike) Croy, Nancy (Courtney) Profitt, Scott (Nancy) Whitaker, Margaret (Dean) Wilkerson, Mary (Dennis) Garland, Linda Byrd; son in law, Sevan Denham; 19 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Ralph Whitaker and Ray Whitaker; one daughter Carol Denham; one grandson, Joey Gibson.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Monday, July 6, 2015 at 1PM with Pastor Kris Theobald and Pastor Paul Tillett officiating. Burial will follow at Millville Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 5, 2015 from 5PM-8PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to Freedom Baptist Church Building Fund and Hospice of Cincinnati.
