Miles S. Langdon

May 9, 1922 — June 6, 2007

Miles S. Langdon, age 85 of Hamilton passed away at his residence on Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at 3:00 AM. He was born in Leslie County, Kentucky on May 9, 1922 the son of Mathew and Nancy Ann (Bowling) Langdon. Miles was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1939 to 1945. He was employed as a rewinder at Champion Paper for 33 years, retiring in 1988. Miles enjoyed watching sports, traveling, spending many winters in Florida, and summers with his family by the pool. On February 11, 1947 in Covington, Kentucky he married Mary Powell.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Langdon of Hamilton; two daughters, Robin Lunsford and Kathy Langdon, both of Hamilton; four grandchildren, Ryan (Jen) Stevens, Ted and Leah Lunsford, and Katie Langdon; five great-grandchildren, Matthew, Maddox, Isabella, Jake, and Avery; a brother, Emerson (Rita) Langdon of Lebanon; a sister, Edie (Jack) Finch of Daytona Beach, Florida; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sons, Terry, Ted, and Matt Langdon; a son-in-law, Kenneth Lunsford; seven brothers, Walker, Hargis, A.B., Nick, Joe, Ash, and Bill Langdon; and two sisters, Goldie Combs and Ida Lewis.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Friday, June 8, 2007 at 2:00 PM with Bill Thacker officiating. Burial will follow in Millville Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. The family extends a special thank you to Dr. Krall, Linda, and Hospice of Cincinnati for their care and support. Miles will be deeply missed by his family.
