Monetta Clark Helton

February 14, 1927 — July 1, 2013

Monetta Clark Helton, 86, of Charlottesville, Virginia left this life for her heavenly home on Monday, July 1, 2013. She was born on Valentine’s Day in 1927 in Cumberland, Kentucky to the late Bradley and Lucinda (Morris) Clark. Her husband, David C. Helton; her five sisters, Rhodelia Morris, Viola Bullock, Mildred Roberts, Christina Palmer, and Bonnie Fields, and one brother, Harold B. Clark, preceded her in death. Mrs. Helton is survived by her daughter, Nell (Helton) Roberts and husband, Wayne Roberts of Charlottesville, Virginia; two granddaughters and three great-granddaughters; Adrienne (Roberts) White and husband, Chaplain (CPT) Michael White and their two daughters, Madeleine and Ana of Fort Drum NY; and Emily (Roberts) Howard and husband, Michael Howard and their daughter, Katelynn of Brightwood, Virginia.

Mrs. Helton and her husband of 48 years had lived in Hamilton, Ohio for 40 years and attended Hamilton Church of God. They were co-owners of a jewelry store, which she managed. After her husband’s death, she moved to Charlottesville, Virginia to be near her daughter and grandchildren. She was able to be part of her granddaughters’ graduations and weddings, and then enjoy three beautiful great grandchildren.

She was a loving, smiling person with a vibrant personality. No one was a stranger to her for very long. She loved to be with people, fellowshipping and sharing stories of God’s faithfulness in her life. She was a bold witness for Him.

Mrs. Helton was a faithful attendee and supporter of Covenant Church in Charlottesville, Virginia and its ministries. She spent her life preparing for the time when she would leave her earthly home to be with her Lord. She is now Home.

A service in her honor will be held Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at 10 am in the Rose Mausoleum at Rose Hill Cemetery, Hamilton Ohio. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Covenant Church, 1025 East Rio Road, Charlottesville, Virginia, 22901 for the "Feed the Children" program in Batangas, Philippines.
