Myrtle Hayes

Myrtle L. Hayes, age 88 of Hamilton, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2024. Myrtle was born in Crab Orchard, Kentucky on October 11, 1935 to Mack Brock and Elizabeth (Miller) Brock. She was a woman of God who was devoted in her faith. Myrtle loved taking care of her family, grandchildren, and the neighborhood children. She was a dedicated wife for 69 years to her husband, James Hayes, who preceded her in death in 2018. Myrtle cherished her home state of Kentucky and enjoyed the family reunions there. She loved the color purple and her rooster collection.

Myrtle is survived by her children, Saundra “Sandy” Bond, Jamesetta “Jamie” (Leon) Collins, Mironda Herrin, Daniel Hayes, and Darrick Hayes; grandchildren, Jason Bond, Dennis B. Hayes, Stacy Bond, Darrick (Morgan) Boyd, Jarrick Hayes, and Megan Hux; great-grandchildren, Searria, Malaki, Julian, Toteonna, Danishka, AJ, Jordan, Jameson, Laila Boyd, Lillie Boyd, Rachel Boyd, Jayse; four great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Virginia Shoemaker, Alberta Brock, Bernice Hart, Edward (Cecil Faye) Brock, Louise (Glenn) Harris and Darlene (Terry) Himes; sister-in-law, Martha Brock; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents, Mack and Elizabeth Brock; her husband, James Hayes; son, James D. Hayes; brothers, Milton Brock and Golden Brock; brother-in-law, Eddie Shoemaker; and half siblings, Alice Miller, Fran McGrath and Donald Sponsel.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Ave, Hamilton, Ohio, on Thursday, September  5, 2024 at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September  5, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home.
