Naomi Jewel (Hibbard) Browning

Naomi Jewel Browning (Hibbard) born April 24, 1938, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at Mercy Hospital of Fairfield. Daughter of Charles and Maude (Ivey) Hibbard. Married Dewey Browning on April 28, 1956 in Hamilton, Ohio.

She was employed as an Educational Aide at Fairfield City Schools for 22 years, retiring in 2003. She gave her life to the school and will always be remembered for all of her hard work outside the school day. She volunteered most if not all of her free time working the ticket booths at the games, meets and matches. She was most notably recognized for anything and everything gambling, from gathering money for lottery tickets, organizing March Madness and Super Bowl pools. Even before moving to Fairfield she ran North End Little League and Babe Ruth along with organizing all of the Garfield High School dances while her oldest sons attended.

Preceded in death by her parents and 7 sisters and one brother.

Survived by her loving and devoted husband who has been taking great care of her as her health continued to decline over the last few years. They enjoyed 57 years of marriage together that was anything but boring. She has five sons Randy (Angie), Pat (Lori), Scott, Casey (Gina), Derrick and one daughter Jodi (Robert). 17 grandkids and 10 ½ great grandkids.

She loved to cook for her family and anyone else who happened to be hanging around. You never knew who would show up for her biscuits and gravy every Sunday. She also was famous for her fudge, the best you could get.

Funeral services will be held at the Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home 330 Pershing Ave. on Saturday August 24, 2013 at 2pm with Dale Werk officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11am until time of service. Burial to follow at Greenwood Cemetery.

Heaven now has the best mother, grandmother and great grandmother and most pure hearted souls this world has ever seen. Rest in Peace mom we will take care of dad. We love you.
