Nellie Edmonds, age 94 of Hamilton passed away in Wellington Manor on Friday, September 3, 2010 at 8:12 AM. She was born in Walker County, Alabama on February 15, 1916 the daughter of A.B. "Tank" and Liza (Davis) Davis. Nellie was a member of the Morning Star Christian Fellowship Church. In June, 1933 in Nauvoo, Alabama she was married to Leon Edmonds, and he preceded her in death in 1978.
She is survived by two sons, Carl (Ruby) Edmonds and Jim (Brenda) Edmonds, both of Hamilton; three grandchildren, Scott (Diane) Edmonds, Venessa Nicely, and Darin (Anna) Edmonds, all of Hamilton; and five great-grandchildren, Ashton, Morgan, McKinna, Samantha, and Logan. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Elston in 1999; five brothers, Ernest, Dewey, Idas, Lester, and Chester Davis; two sisters, Fannie Scoles and Josie Yates; and a grandson, David Edmonds.
Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at 12:00 noon with Rev. Charles Anderson, Pastor of the Laurel Avenue Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon.
