Nellie Sons Zimmerer

Nellie Sons Zimmerer, age 85 of Hamilton, passed away on Tuesday, August 17, 2010. She was born in Frenchburg, Kentucky on October 12, 1924 the daughter of Albert and Ida Sons. Nellie was an active and long time member of AMVETS Post #1983.

She is survived by her husband, James Zimmerer of Hamilton; two daughters, Brenda and her husband Jerry Pitts of Maggie Valley, NC and Pamela Tighe of Hendersonville, NC; a grandson Brian Tighe of Hamilton; two sisters, Magdalene Harding and Dorothy Amburgey, both of Frankfort, Kentucky; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and seven brothers and sisters.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at 11:30 AM with Rev. Jacob Flannery officiating. Burial will follow at Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Saturday from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Four Seasons Hospice, 571 South Allen Road, Flat Rock NC 28731 in her memory.
