Nephi Lazarus

Nephi Lazarus, age 79 of Hamilton, went to be with Jesus on Thursday, November 23, 2023. Nephi was born in Hillsdale, Michigan on May 16, 1944 to Lee Roy and Agnus Anna Lazarus. On March 5, 1977 in Hazard, KY, he married the love of his life, Orlena Deaton. Nephi loved the Lord with all his heart. He used his talent for music for Jesus, was a humble man and had the ability to make everyone laugh. He was loved by everyone he met and never met a stranger.

Nephi is survived by his wife of 46 years, Lena Lazarus; his daughter, April (Matt) Gevedon; his grand fur babies, Trixie and Gizmo; his grandson, Matthew Gevedon Jr.; his great-grandchildren, Landon and Braxton; his great-grand fur baby, Izzy; his sister, Marguerite (the late Herb) Bennett; his in-laws, Violet Hollins, Jesse Holland and Michael Holland; his niece and nephews, Suzanne (Jim), Terry (Kathy), Jeff and Selena; a dear friends, Aunt Donna and Aunt Teresa; and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins and church family. Nephi was preceded in death by his parents; his brother in law, Herb Bennett; and his mother in law, Bertie Holland; and host of family and friends in Hamilton, OH, Hazard, KY and Michigan.

Funeral service will be held at Pentecostal Faith Church, 30 Cain Ave., Hamilton, Ohio, on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at 12:00 PM. Burial will follow at Hickory Flat Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Pentecostal Faith Church.
