Nikola Stewart

Nikola F. Stewart, age 87 of Hamilton, passed away at her home on Saturday, September 20, 2014. She was born in Cincinnati on June 29, 1927 to James and Grace (Gillespie) Goins. On March 29, 1947 in Cincinnati she married John C. Stewart. Nikola’s favorite pastime was sitting on her porch watching her children, and later her grandchildren and great grandchildren playing in the yard.

She is survived by her children, Donald Stewart, Debbie Cottingham, and Joy (Ben) Maggio; grandchildren, Maria, Angela, Ben, and John Maggio, and Steven (Amy) Cottingham; geat-grandchildren, Breanna, Austin, and Donavin Cottingham; a sister, Waywana Heinsman; a brother, Henry Goins; brothers-in-law, James and Roy (Princess) Stewart; and a sister-in-law, Stella (Hunter) Hyde. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, John Stewart; a brother, James Goins; and her parents.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 from 1:00 – 2:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Cincinnati.
