Norma Jean Luera, age 68, of Hamilton, passed away suddenly on Saturday August 18, 2007. She was born in Lexington, Kentucky on April 18, 1939 the daughter of Carlo and Edna (Durham) Smith. Norma was a former employee of the U. S. Postal Service and a former volunteer for St. Vincent DePaul. Norma enjoyed spending time at horse farms in Kentucky with her cousin, Fairy Turner, and doing genealogy with her cousin Chester Durham.
She is survived by her five children, Vickie (Jeff) Ebbing of Hamilton, BrendaLee (Fiancée Bill Anderson) Riley of Whittier, California, Tari (Terry) Reames of Hamilton, Deborah Decatur of Newport, Kentucky, and Tony Brittingham of Hamilton; 12 grandchildren: seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Curt Smith of Fairfield; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; a great-granddaughter, Rebecca; a brother, Ernie Smith; and a sister and brother who died in infancy.
Funeral services will be held at Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Ave. on Thursday, August 23rd at 10:00 AM with Pastor Cecil Day of Lighthouse Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.
