Norman George, 92, passed away peacefully at home on September 13, 2026, surrounded by family. Norman was born December 13, 1933, in London, KY, to the late Walter and Mattie George.

A devoted father, husband, grandpa, uncle and friend, he is survived by his daughter, Jill McCowan and her fiancé Michael Collins; grandson Jake McCowan; great- granddaughters Kayla (Jordan) Senters and Peyton Smith; his partner Deborah Turner, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Norman is preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Charlotte George; son Larry St. George; and granddaughter Tiffany Smith.

Norman leaves behind a legacy built on hard work, family, friendship, and a life well lived. He had a sharp mind, huge laugh and signature head of strawberry-blond hair. He worked on the railroad for decades before running his own septic tank business, where his customers nicknamed him "Stormin' Norman", always teaching those around him the value of working hard. Norman never met a stranger. His laugh, usually accompanied by a "WOO-ee!" and loud clap, could be heard from a mile away. Norman loved working on his picture-perfect farm, surrounded by his cherished horses, barn cats, tractors, and friends-things that brought him great joy throughout his life. He also grew tomatoes that could win prizes. Norman was so beloved in his community that people would regularly pass by and honk their horns just to say hello. His favorite way to relax was to sit under his favorite tree and take in the fresh air, sipping tea with his wife Charlotte. Her famous cornbread was one of his favorite evening snacks. He always made time for his countless friends and enjoyed simple routines that became traditions over the years, like daily breakfast at McDonald’s and Sunday breakfast at Bob Evans with friends. His hard work, generous spirit, friendships, and love for his family will be remembered by all that knew him.
