Olive Lou Allen

Olive Lou (Jefferies) Allen, age 85 of Hamilton, passed away at Fort Hamilton Hospital surrounded by family on Friday, April 20, 2018. Olive was born July 4, 1932. On September 1, 1951, in Columbus, Georgia, she married Glen Allen. Olive worked for many years at Marilyn’s Dress Shoppe on Main Street before retiring. She thoroughly enjoyed her children and grandchildren.

Olive was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Nancy Jefferies; her granddaughter, Erica Collins; and her brother, Virgil Jefferies. She will be missed by her loving family: husband of 66 years, Glen Allen; daughter Rebecca Mayer (Monte); son, Craig Allen (Karen); and their families: Nicole & James, Kenny, Brad and Stephanie; Brandon & Rose, Tyler & Nicole, Jordan & Kayla, Bradley, Alex, Keith, Avery, Jaxson; Katelyn & Eric, and Daniel; her sister, Mary Flo Braun; and several nieces. She also leaves behind lifelong friends, Rene Ray, Ruth & Dick Pfaffman, and many other friends.

Her family wishes to thank the ICU staff and doctors at the hospital for their excellent care, compassion and emotional support through this difficult time.

Visitation will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, Hamilton, OH from 5:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, April 25, 2018. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Ed Beck officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.
