Oliver "Hugger" Nieman Jr.

Oliver C. "Hugger" Nieman Jr., age 87 of Hamilton, passed away at Fort Hamilton Hospital on Sunday, June 17, 2018. He was born in New Miami on November 20, 1930 the son of Oliver and Evelyn (Schiller) Nieman. Hugger was a veteran of the Korean War with the United States Army from 1951 to 1953. On May 14, 1955 in Hamilton he married Jacquelyn Quisenberry. He was employed as a foreman with Armco Steel for forty four years, retiring in 1991. Hugger attended Twinbrook Hills Baptist Church and was a member of the North College Hill Masonic Lodge.

Hugger is survived by his wife of sixty three years, Jacquelyn Nieman; five children, Lynette Nieman, Robert (Suzie) Nieman, Ronald (Julie) Nieman, Kevin (Mary Jane Colwell) Nieman, and Dorothy (Fred) House; one sister, Juanita (Bill) Dunham; sixteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Hugger was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Arletta Shanks and Becky Hughes; and six siblings, Clarence Nieman, Evelyn Kallick, Joseph Nieman, Mary Smith, Ruth Reddick and Sarah Hymer.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Aaron Miller of Twinbrook Hills Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
