Oma Dean (Kemp) Jeter, 85, of Hamilton, OH, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2026. She was born in Osceola, Arkansas to Dolly Lorraine (Bishop) Kemp and Ernest Willard Kemp on September 1,1940.

Growing up in Arkansas she learned to pick cotton and loved school, especially math and reading. Oma retired in 2017 from Journal News after 32 years of delivering newspapers and serving as a district manager. In retirement, she filled her time with crocheting, reading, watching old movies, and playing cards. Her recent discovery of an ‘Alexa’ brought many hours of old musical tunes back into her life.

She was a beloved and devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend who never met a stranger. She will be remembered for quick wit, sassiness and deep love for her family.

Oma is survived by her sister, Joyce Johnson; children Alan Davis, Sharon (Denver) Bays, and Dalonda Price; grandchildren Dionna (Josh) Wendt, Shelby (Ryan) King, Jordan (Martijn) Reumkens, Amanda Bays, Natalie (Gavin) Pearson, and Parker Price; great-grandchildren Lillian Evans, Jamison King, Jaxson Pearson, and Melanie Pearson.

She is predeceased by her parents Dolly Neuman and Ernest Kemp; her siblings Jean Collect, Jerald Kemp, and Helen Ryan; and her daughter Dianna Davis.

A celebration of life will be held August 20, 2026, at LaRosa’s, 21 Lynn St, Oxford, OH, 11:00 am – 4:00 pm. The family wishes to thank Golden Years Nursing Center for their care and compassion.
