Omas Fields, age 76 of Hamilton passed away at his residence on Tuesday, January 17, 2012. He was born in Manchester, Kentucky on January 3, 1936 the son of John and Judy (Sizemore) Fields. Omas was employed as a welder at H.P. Duescher for 37 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bluegrass and country music, and making things. Omas loved spending time with his family and his beloved dog, Buddy. On January 29, 1967 he married Kathryn Plummer.
He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Fields of Hamilton; four children, Wes (Nicole) Fields of Trenton, Kristy Fields, Todd Fields, and Cindy (Milt) Lawson, all of Hamilton; eight grandchildren, Eric (Becky) Lawson of Winter Springs, Florida, Lyndsay (Mark) Jackson of Louisville, Kentucky, Bradley Fields, Leslie (Darrick) Jones, Allison Fields, Natalie Fields, Rachel Fields, and Tyler Fields, all of Hamilton; four great-grandchildren, Anna Lawson of Winter Springs, Florida, Daymian Jones of Hamilton, Jordyn Jackson and Blake Jackson, both of Louisville, Kentucky; a brother, Walter (Norma) Fields of Seminole, Florida; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Reva, Mildred, Lucy, and Emmy; and four brothers, Chester, Hampton, Denver, and Jim.
Visitation will be 10am until time of service (11am) at the Brown-Dawson-Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Friday, January 20, 2012 with Pastor Mark Jackson and Milton Lawson officiating.
