Orval G. Helton

Orval G. Helton, age 87 of Hamilton passed away at Glen Meadows on Monday, March 3, 2008 at 2:10 PM. He was born in Mariba, Kentucky on January 30, 1921 the son of Sam and Rose (Frisby) Helton. Orval was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II from 1942 to 1945. He was employed as a mechanic and lead man at General Electric for 30 years, retiring in 1982. In 1945 in New Jersey, he married Virginia Hicks, and she preceded him in death in 2004. He is survived by a son, Bruce (Marsha) Helton of Trenton; a daughter, Sharon Helton of Hamilton; two grandchildren, Martha Ellen Helton and Andrew Helton; two sisters, Betty (Dave) Deck and Carma (Henry) Trimble, both of Kentucky; and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Harlan and Grace. Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Friday, March 7, 2008 at 2:00 PM with Dr. Dennis Metzger and Rev. William C. Brantingham of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
