Patricia Louise Ashworth, age 75, passed away peacefully August 25, 2023, at Fort Hamilton Hospital due to health complications.  She was born May 11, 1948, in Stockton, California to Bufford and Eula Gordon.  She moved to Ripon, California in 1950 with her parents.  She graduated from Ripon High School in June 1966.  Patricia married Bobby Gene Bumgarner on September 2, 1968, and together they had three daughters, Norma, Noma and Denise.  They lived in the Manteca, Stockton, and San Jose Area until they moved to Lucerne, California (Lake County) in July of 1975.

Patricia had a love for cooking and baking and after relocating to Lake County, California in 1975 she went to work for Safeway Foods and was a head baker and cake decorator.  Her husband Bobby Bumgarner preceded her in death on June 22, 1977.

Patricia re-married Samuel Ashworth Jr. on February 18, 1978, and in 1979 they opened an Ambulance company in Lakeport, California and soon after welcomed their son Samuel on March 17, 1980.  Patricia was always active and volunteered at Lucerne Elementary where her girls were attending elementary school as a teacher’s aide, and she even became Vice President of the Lucerne Elementary School PTA in 1983/1984 school year.  She continued to support her girls and their love of sports when her twins, Norma and Noma graduated elementary and attended Upper Lake High School from 1984 – 1987, she was also very active as PTA president, before they relocated back to Ripon, California.  In her spare time, she would showcase her love of cakes at the county fair where she won numerous blue ribbons.

In 2016 Patricia and her husband Sam moved to Hamilton, Ohio to live closer to her daughter Noma’s family.  Patricia lived a full life as a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, homemaker, and baker.  Cooking was her passion as well as crafting, reading and she enjoyed the outdoors with her family on yearly summer camping trips.

Patricia’s legacy of baking lives on in her daughter’s and granddaughter’s.  Patricia is survived by her daughter’s, Norma Hunt and husband Steven Hunt, Noma Miller and husband Bryan Miller, Denise Bumgarner and son Samuel Ashworth III as well as her sister Cathy and brother Roger.  She was preceded in death by 3 sister’s and two brothers.

Her heart truly belonged to all her grandchildren, Jeffery, Cody, Kylie, Izzy, Taylor, Tory, Aaron, Ciera, Alyssa and Tiffany.  She also has 15 great grandchildren.  She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 from 1:00 PM until the time of her Funeral Service at  3:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Ave., Hamilton, OH 45011.
