Patricia “Patty” Ann Sparks (Hampton), 86, of Oxford, Ohio passed away on April 18th, 2026 at Hospice of Butler Warren County. Patty was born on May 27, 1939 in Oxford, Ohio to Everett and Helen Hampton. She was part of the first graduating class at Talawanda High School in 1957. She met her husband, Clyde, at church, which has been the center of their lives. Their faith has created a legacy for their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. They enjoyed traveling together and with their family. They were blessed to have visited all 50 states, Alaska being her favorite!
She is survived by her husband Clyde of 67 years, daughters: Susan Downie and Virginia (Billy) Gilbert, two special Grandchildren: Cameron (Alyssa) Earles, Hollie (Brandon) Hammond. Five very special great grandchildren: Lilyanah, Liam & Lainey Earles, Beau & Maddux Hammond, her Sister: Betty Taylor & Special sister in Law, Jan Hampton, as well as numerous special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Richard, Everett Jr and Harold Hampton, her son in law Tom Downie, and her dearly missed son Darold, who she is finally reunited with in heaven.
Patricia worked as a bank teller at First National Bank, and worked at Talawanda City Schools. The most rewarding job she had was being a caring and loving stay-at-home mom, pouring into her family every day. She is most known for her love for God and her devotion to her family. She was also very supportive in all aspects of her family’s life. If there was a show choir competition, sports event, or church function, she was everyone’s biggest cheerleader, and everyone’s grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family playing dominos, golf cart rides and truly found joy watching her family make memories.
Patricia’s family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to the team at the Hospice of Butler Warren County Inpatient Unit, who provided such amazing love and care to her during these unimaginable times throughout her final journey.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at AP Church, 5450 College Corner Pike, Oxford, OH 45056. Funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM. Officiating will be her Grandson, Cameron Earles. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Butler Warren County Inpatient Unit.
Patricia will always have a special place in our hearts and will never be forgotten. She has left a mark on all she has come in contact with, and our lives are forever changed because of it. We have peace in our hearts that she has finally heard the words, “well done good and faithful servant”. She will be so deeply missed, and we can’t imagine this life without her, but we are looking forward to the next time we see her in heaven as she greets us at the gates.
