Patty Rice-Miller

Patty Rice-Miller, age 67, passed away on January 16, 2017, after a brief illness, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Hamilton, Ohio on October 1, 1949 to Emory and Josephine (White) Rice. Patty was a 1967 graduate of New Miami High School. She later earned her nursing degree in Oklahoma in 1978. She worked in many areas of nursing during her career but most enjoyed hospice as it provided opportunity for her to give comfort to both her patients and their families. Patty loved being outside and enjoyed camping, fishing, writing short stories, bingo, spending time with her grandchildren and traveling with the carnival. She was very energetic, had a good sense of humor and will be missed by many.

She is survived by her son Bill (Joann) Miller; daughter Peppi Miller; grandchildren Justin Gardner, Kelley Miller, Shannon Miller, Taylor Miller, McKenzie Miller; sisters Karen Lotz, Rita Rice Absher; brothers Robert Rice, Kenny Rice and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Patty was preceded in death by her parents Emory and Josephine Rice; brothers Jay rice and Jerry Rice and former husband Bill Miller.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Ave, Hamilton from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. Service to follow at 7:00pm with Pastor Walt Philpot officiating. Graveside service will be held Friday, January 27, 2017 at 2:30pm at Hickory Flat Cemetery.
