Paul C. Harmon, age 87 of Trenton passed away at Berkeley Square on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at 6:02 AM. He was born in Middletown on August 3, 1920 the son of William and Helen (Gfroerer) Harmon. Paul was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War with the United States Navy from 1942 to 1946 and 1951 to 1952. He served on the USS Carter Hall, Vulcan and Tyrell in the South Pacific. Paul was a 1949 graduate of Ohio State, earning a BA in Business Administration. He was employed at Armco Steel for 28 years, retiring as chief economist in 1982. On August 31, 1940 in Hamilton he married Alberta Morton, who preceded him in death in 1997. Paul was a life member of VFW #7670, American Legion Post #138, Monkey Mutual Aid Society, and the Moose Lodge #501. He is survived by his daughter, Sandra (Claude) Leslie of Trenton; two grandchildren, Charles Leslie and Catherine "Liz" Leslie; one brother, Leo Harmon of Arizona; and one sister, Eva Rupert of Cincinnati. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, James and Jack Harmon. Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Saturday, March 1, 2008 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Terry Ball of Monroe First Church of God officiating. Burial will follow at St. Stephen’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Throughout life, both Mr. and Mrs. Harmon were very fond of animals, especially stray dogs and cats, many of which they took into their home and cared for. They supported the Animal Friends Humane Society, 5225 Trenton Road, Trenton 45067-9501, and had requested that donations be made to them in lieu of flowers.
