Paula R. Rowlands

Paula R. Rowlands, age 80 of Hamilton passed away in Fort Hamilton Hospital on Thursday, December 27, 2007 at 11:55 AM. She was born in Perry County, Kentucky on September 16, 1927, the daughter of Hobart and Cassie (Combs) Colwell. Paula was a 1945 graduate of Hamilton High School and was employed as a Branch Claim Clerk for Ohio Casualty Insurance Company for twenty-five years retiring in 1983. On October 16, 1978, in Hamilton, she was married to Powell Rowlands.

She is survived by her husband, Powell Rowlands of Hamilton; one daughter; Rayma Snodgrass of Hamilton; one granddaughter, Toni (Bill) Gebhart of Oxford; two devoted great-grandchildren, Colton and Cassidy Gebhart. She is also survived by two step-sons; Hub (Jane) Rowlands and Dan (Lisa) Rowlands both of Hamilton; three step-grandchildren, Shawna (Chris) Halsey of Trenton, Danielle (Dino) Alcorn of Liberty, Indiana and Jeff Burress of Hamilton; a sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Casler of Lexington, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son-in-law, Phil Snodgrass in 2007; one brother, Ray Colwell and a step-daughter, Stephanie Bowling.

Funeral services will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue on Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at 10 AM with Rev. Larry Davis, Pastor of the Hamilton Assembly of God Church officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9 AM to 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the American Heart Association.
