Pauline G. Sositko

Pauline G. Sositko, age 81 of Hamilton passed away in Ft. Hamilton Hospital on Sunday, December 16, 2007 at 8:15 PM. She was born in Ames, Iowa on June 23, 1926 the daughter of William and Myra (Clark) Guyler. She attended St. Mary’s grade school and Notre Dame High School, she was a member of the American Legion Post #138 Auxiliary, and was their president in 1993, 1997, and 1998 and was the post’s honorary historian for twelve years, from 1989 to 2001, and always helped where she was needed. She was also a member of the Amvets Post #1983 and the Eagles #407, and attended St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. She was employed as a nurse’s aide for Mercy Hospital for twenty-three years and then was employed as a cook for Hickory Hut for thirteen years, retiring in 1989. On June 5, 1944 in Hamilton, she was married to Joseph Sositko, and he preceded her in death in 1989.

She is survived by two sons, Robert P. Sositko and John W. Sositko, both of Hamilton; two grandchildren, Jason P. Sositko and Angel Sositko; and a host of friends.

A prayer service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Thursday, December 20, 2007 at 1:00 PM with Fr. Stephen Mondiek, Pastor of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
