Philiberta A. Kirk

Philiberta A. Kirk, age 83 of Fairfield passed away at Tri-County Extended Care Center on Friday, March 19, 2010 at 2:00 PM. She was born in Hamilton on July 25, 1926 the daughter of Anthony and Cecilia (Hingsbergen) Schnapp. Philiberta was employed at Cincinnati Bell and Mercy Hospital of Hamilton. She was member of St. Ann Catholic Church. On September 20, 1952 in Hamilton, she married Ronald J. Kirk.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald J. Kirk of Fairfield; three children, Ronald A. Kirk of Hamilton, Catherine (Bruce) Bell of Fairfield, and Roxanne (Vaughn) Loomis of Hamilton; five grandchildren, Nicole (Ryan Holland) Bennett, James Bennett, Rachel Bell, Cassondra (Mike Koelblin) Loomis, and Clayton (Christina Marlar) Loomis; four great-grandchildren, Trey, Rylee, Kaitlin, and Ella; two brothers, Tony (Maxine) Schnapp of South Bend, Indiana and Vincent Schnapp of Germantown; a sister, Cecilia Schnapp of Salem, Indiana; her neighbor and long time friend, Peggy Kays; devoted dog, Happy; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Edward and Cyril Schnapp; and two sisters, Frances Goldner and Angela Menke.

Visitation will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ann Catholic Church, 3028 Pleasant Avenue, on Wednesday at 10:00 AM. Cremation will follow. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Tri-County Extended Care and Hospice of Cincinnati for all their care and support and especially to her hospice nurse, Brenda Carpenter for helping with the transition from life to death. In lieu of flowers donations may be directed to Hospice of Cincinnati. "Godspeed Mimi, until we meet again".
