Polly Lucas

Polly Lucas, age 95, of Hamilton, Ohio, lost her battle with cancer on June 4, 2022.

Polly was born on June 4, 1927, in Frew, Kentucky to Dover and Katie (Hendrix) Cornett. She was a member of Laurel Avenue Church of Christ.  Polly loved to garden, make quilts and was known for her awesome apple cakes. She was dedicated to the Lord and her family. She is survived by her sisters, Mary Thacker, Martha Sturgill and Jessie Joseph; children, Ruth (the late Tom) Smith, Joan (Howard) Carson and John (Carol) Hamilton; step children Robert Lucas, David (Jackie) Lucas and Mark (Monica) Lucas; 18 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Polly was preceded in death by her husbands, William Hamilton (1958) and Mark Lucas (2004); her son, Gregory Hamilton; and her stepdaughters, Judy Henson and Linda Alfrey. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, Hamilton, Ohio with internment following at Rose Hill Burial Park.  Visitors will be received one hour prior to funeral services, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. Memorial donations (in lieu of flowers) may be made to UC Cancer Institute, Midwestern Children's Home, or Crossroads Hospice Cincinnati.
