Preston Harris

Preston Harris, age 95 of Hamilton passed away at Ft. Hamilton Hospital on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at 8:00 AM. He was born in Clay County, Kentucky on December 6, 1916 the son of Henry and Lillie (Myers) Harris. On September 5, 1950 in Liberty, Indiana he married Frances A. Willsey. Preston was employed as a laborer at Champion Paper and retired August 30, 1980 after 36 years of service. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Hamilton.

He is survived by sister, Mary (Donald) Lewis of Hamilton; sister-in-law, Vida Harris; special niece, Carolyn Sue Eenon of Indianapolis, Indiana; a niece, Norma Jean (Lee) Michalsky of New York; nephew, William Ray Lewis and his family of Hamilton; a number of other nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and brother, Robert (Vida) Harris.

Visitation will be 10am until time of service (11am), Monday, December 19, 2011, at the Brown-Dawson-Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, with Dr. Dennis M. Metzger and Rev. Bill Brantingham of First Baptist Church of Hamilton officiating. Entombment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery Mausoleum. The family would like to thank William Mitchell and his wife, Brenda and Bessie Harris for everything they have done for keeping Preston comfortable at his home. They would also like to thank Huntington Court for all their wonderful care.
