Priscilla Jane King, age 81, most recently of St. Paul, passed away peacefully with her husband by her side on Friday, May 8, 2026, in Liberty Township. One month before her passing, she and her husband, David, had moved to Ohio to live with their daughter and her family.
Priscilla was born in Portland on March 9, 1945, to Lawrence Raymond and Geraldine (née Williams) Eyres. She met David in Long Beach, CA, when he rented her a boat during a family vacation. After a long courtship, they were married on August 23, 1968.
David is a minister in the Orthodox Presbyterian Church, and together they faithfully served in four churches while raising five children before David’s retirement in 2018. Priscilla was a gifted nurse, writer, piano teacher, card-maker, and composer. She was also a devoted theologian who wrote her own Bible study curriculum and spent countless hours corresponding with prison inmates through a discipleship program (Cornerstone Prison Ministry).
Priscilla exuded compassion and wanted nothing more than to be used by God to share the message of the gospel: that as Christ had forgiven her much, so He freely forgives all who come to Him in their need, guilt, and shame. She struggled with depression and was especially drawn to the hurting, the weak, the vulnerable, and the forgotten. To them, regardless of inconvenience or personal cost, she could be found ministering to emotional or physical needs, pointing to the hope and comfort found only in Christ.
Priscilla is survived by her husband of 57 years, David W. King; her children, Laurie King, Benjamin (Meredith) King, Joanna (Matthew) Kingsbury, Joshua (Erin) King, Naomi (Jeremy) Winebrenner; her grandchildren, Maggie, Abby, Anthony, Cedrick, Joe, Jalen, Alisha, Micah, Benny, Ezra, Jael, Josiah, Ezekiel, Samuel, Alaya, Adelaide, Grace, and Emmeline; and her great-grandchildren, Noah, Neveah, Amar'e, and one on the way. Priscilla was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Geraldine Eyres.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Living Hope Church (PCA), 626 Ridgelawn Avenue, Hamilton, Ohio 45013. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM with Pastor Chad Grindstaff officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Living Hope Church (PCA).
