Raleigh Buttree, age 90 of Hamilton, passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Friday, January 9, 2015. He was born in Clay County, Kentucky on January 15, 1924 to William Hayes and Alpha (Bowling) Buttree. On March 11, 1948 in Richmond, Indiana he married Maye Crawford. Raleigh was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II, serving in the pacific theatre.
He is survived by his children, Joyce (Larry) Rose, and Phil (Vicki) Buttree; grandchildren, Chris (Chelsea) Rose, Amy Lynn (Matt) Becker, and Stephen Philip Buttree; great-grandchildren, Megan, Kylan, and Loran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maye Buttree; brothers, Opal Buttree and Charles Buttree; and his parents.
Funeral service will be held at Hamilton Church of God, 1760 Millville Ave, on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Millville Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at the Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue.
