Ramsey Karol

Ramsey Karol, age 81 of Hamilton passed away at Fort Hamilton Hospital on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at 2:16 PM. He was born in Owsley County, Kentucky on September 18, 1927. Ramsey was a veteran on World War II with the United States Army from 1943-1947. He was employed as a truck driver for SRI Trucking, Inc before his retirement. Ramsey was a member of Christ Church and the Teamsters Union Local 100. On December 7, 1981 in Hamilton he married Janice Evans.

He is survived by his wife, Janice Karol of Hamilton; five children, Molly Karol of Cincinnati, Thelma Williams of Covington, Margaret (Guy) Still of Nashville, Tennessee, Michael Shirley of Columbus, Ohio, and Perry Van Shirley of Branch Hill, Ohio; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Susan.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Neil Gabbard of Christ Church officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
