Rance J. Scott

Rance J. Scott, age 74 of Hamilton passed away at Mercy Hospital of Fairfield on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at 8:57 AM. He was born in Laurel County, Kentucky on March 30, 1934 the son of John and Tina May (Wells) Scott. Rance was employed as a laborer at Force Control Industries for 26 years. On November 28, 1980 in Hamilton, he married Margie H. Bates.

He is survived by his wife, Margie H. Scott of Hamilton; a son, Timothy R. Scott and his son, Daniel R. Scott, both of Hamilton; five stepchildren, Jeffrey (Charlotte) Combs of Fairfield, Terry L. (Dorothy) Combs, Timothy (Sandra) Combs, both of Hamilton, Pamela (Harold) Creech of Norwood, and David M. (Carol Ann) Combs of Hamilton; a sister, Dorothy Smith of Hamilton; 15 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and ten siblings.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Friday, March 13, 2009 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Harold Davidson officiating. Burial will follow in Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
