Ray E. Bower

Dr. Ray E. Bower, age 69 of Laurel, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 1, 2018. Ray was born in Hamilton, Ohio on September 29, 1948 to Lloyd E. and Alma (Johnson) Bower. He received his PhD in Psychology from Miami University and was a professor for over 30 years at Olivet Nazarene University. He was a beloved professor and a faithful member of the Rushville Church of the Nazarene. Dr. Bower was known for loving his Lord and loving people. One of his goals was to spend his time making a difference in the lives of others. Dr. Bower will be missed by his family, many friends and will be welcomed home by his Lord, his parents, and his wife, Rosemary.

Ray is survived by his brother, Phil (Brenda) Bower who Pastor’s in West Virginia; his nephews, Tony (Kristin) Bower and Timothy (Andrea) Bower; his brother-in-law, Larry (Pat) Presley. Ray was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Rosemary Bower and his parents.

Funeral service will be held at Millville Ave. Church of the Nazarene, 308 Millville Ave., Hamilton, Ohio, on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Phil Bower officiating. Burial will follow at Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2018 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Millville Ave. Church of the Nazarene.
