Raymond Feltner

Raymond Feltner, age 77 of Hamilton passed away in Fort Hamilton Hospital on Friday, January 16, 2009 at 6:27 PM. He was born in Hazard County, Kentucky on February 28, 1931 the son of Carter and Myrtle (Hoskins) Feltner. Raymond was employed at Champion International as a cutter operator for 41 years, retiring in 1993. He was a member of the Champion Old Timers and Kentucky Colonel. He was a faithful member of the Laurel Avenue Church of Christ. In 1950 he married Pauline Eversole in Hazard, Kentucky.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Pauline Feltner of Hamilton; a son, Michael (Debra) Feltner of Vero Beach, Florida; two daughters, Betty (Gary) Cox of Trenton and Carolyn (Dan) Kleingers of Cincinnati; six grandchildren, Gabriel Feltner of Toledo, Jacob Feltner of Hamilton, Travis and Caleb Fletner of Vero Beach, Florida, Rachael (Ron) Bagley of Sevenmile and Gary Cox of Sevenmile; three step-grandchildren, Shauna, Corry, and Zachary; three great-grandchildren, Haley Hopkins, Noelle and Nadia Feltner; three brothers, Samuel Colwell of Hazard, Kentucky, William Colwell of Sevenmile and Ray Williams of Jeff, Kentucky; four sisters, Zola Couch of Busy, Kentucky, Betty Newberry of Hazard, Kentucky, Janie Brown of London, Kentucky and Eliza Perkins of Cleveland, Tennessee and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Herman who was serving the US Army during WWII in 1943; two sisters, Rebecca Philbeck and Georgia Jameson; and a grandson, Adam Feltner.

Funeral Service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at 12:00 noon with Rev. Charles Anderson pastor of the Laurel Avenue Church of Christ officiating. Burial will follow in Millville Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon at the funeral home. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Wehr and to the staff of Fort Hamilton Hospital for all their care and support.
